Red Dirt Report was launched July 4, 2007 as an informational website covering all manner of news, culture, entertainment and lifestyle stories that affect and interest Oklahoma readers.
After 12 years in the daily newspaper industry, Andrew W. Griffin, a professional journalist, saw a need for a website featuring original stories as well as aggregated stories from trusted mainstream and alternative news sources.
In the years since Red Dirt Report was launched, hits at the site have steadily increased and it has been seen as a trusted news source in its own right. Editor and writer Andrew W. Griffin has been regularly interviewed on Oklahoma radio and TV stations and has been a regular guest on the Scott Mitchell Show on the Radio Oklahoma Network.
Red Dirt Report also has other reporters and contributing writers. Norman, Okla.-based writer and commentator Ted H. Smith recently joined the team and we also feature columns from Oklahoma writers including Russell Turner of Stilwell, Nick Baker of Norman and Alan Webb of Oklahoma City, among others.
Additionally, photographers Marie Mentesana and Chris Emery are supporting Red Dirt Report with their fine contributions.
Red Dirt Report is always looking for contributing writers and reporters.
